WHY PASSOVER IN WARTIME IS DIFFERENT THAN ALL OTHER PASSOVERS... |
Dear Friend of Israel,
At this time of year, Colel Chabad always makes sure that every needy Israeli family, every lonely Holocaust survivor, and every frail senior citizen has a proper Seder meal.
But this Passover, the challenge is far, far greater.
This year, we must also be there for the thousands of border families forced to leave their homes.
For the past seven months, most of them have been crammed into small hotel rooms. They are stuck there without a way to prepare any of the traditional Passover foods, and without space for a Seder celebration.
Their businesses have been closed since October 7th, their farms and orchards abandoned. Without any income, they cannot even afford their regular expenses, let alone any matzah, wine, or special holiday clothing or food.
As our enemies rise up to destroy us, we must rise to the occasion with love and compassion.
It's up to us to make sure that every displaced family has a Seder, that every hungry individual can come and eat, and that every child far from home has a Passover to remember.
Please. They are families just like yours, taking the brunt of this war for all of us.
Won't you do all you can for them?
